LUMBAR SPONDYLITIS

Lumbar spondylitis

Lumbar spondylitis usually begins around age 40 due to disc degeneration and spine wear. Drying discs, herniation, and bone spurs can cause pain and stiffness.

Though more common in older adults, it can also affect younger people. Factors like lumbar injuries, obesity, inactivity, and prolonged poor posture increase the risk. Thickened spinal ligaments and holding the lower back in awkward positions for long periods may also contribute to early development of lumbar spondylosis.

Lumbar spondylitis Causes

  • Genetic factors can increase the risk.
  • Being overweight puts extra strain on the spine.
  • Lack of exercise can weaken the back and spine.
  • Past spine injuries or surgeries may contribute.
  • Smoking can worsen spinal health.
  • Jobs that involve heavy lifting or repetitive movements can add stress to the spine.
  • Mental health conditions like anxiety or depression may play a role.
  • Psoriatic arthritis can also be a risk factor.

Lumbar spondylitis Symptoms

  • The first sign is lower back pain caused by nerve compression from disc issues or bone spurs.
  • Pain gets worse with long periods of sitting or bending forward.
  • If arthritis is involved, standing makes it worse, while sitting or bending helps.
  • Nerve compression can also cause pain, weakness, numbness, or cramping in the legs, buttocks, or feet.
  • In severe cases, it can affect the spinal cord, leading to balance and coordination problems.

Treatment Process of Back Pain at SL Regrow Clinic

Treatment

We use a combination of laser therapies and spinal decompression to relieve pain and stiffness caused by lumbar spondylitis. This approach also improves circulation, reduces pressure on nerves, and supports natural healing and regeneration.

Outcomes

Patients experience reduced pain, improved mobility, and less nerve pressure. The treatment also supports tissue regeneration and long-term spinal healing
